Hedayah designed, developed and tested the Countering Violent Extremism (CVE) Toolkit under the NiWajibu Wetu (NIWETU) project. This toolkit serves as a comprehensive, context-specific resource composed of four-course modules for trainers to deliver in a fully immersive workshop. It can serve non-state actors, non-governmental organizations, grassroots initiatives and non-traditional actors who have direct access to communities vulnerable to radicalization.
Hedayah developed the toolkit, with the support of the Kenyan National Counterterrorism Center, in partnership with the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and Development Alternatives Incorporated (DAI). Feedback from multiple on-the-ground stakeholders in the communities facing violent extremism also guided the development of the toolkit.
