Senior Program Associate

The Senior Program Associate will assist the Program Manager in the further growth and development of the Capacity Building Programs Department through content development, expansion of programs and stakeholder engagement.

The Senior Program Associate will also contribute and revise content for capacity building programs. In addition, draft forecast budgets, monitor expenses, prepare contracts and invoices, while actively supporting the logistical process of capacity building programs activities among other responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Program Manager in the further growth and development of the Capacity Building Programs Department through content development, expansion of programs and stakeholder engagement.

  • Contribute and report directly to the Program Manager as to the proper execution of day to day activities within the Department.

  • Support specific activities when required, including leading on specific elements (e.g. development of concept notes, work-plans, MM& log-frames and final reports), under the supervision of the Program Manager and in coordination with the wider team.

  • Draft forecast budgets in coordination with the Finance and Administration Department, monitor expenses, prepare contracts and invoices and actively support the logistical process of capacity building programs activities.

  • Work with the capacity building programs team to develop, implement and report on capacity building programs.

  • Contribute and revise content/curricula for capacity building programs, including PowerPoint presentations, facilitator notes and other related documents.

  • Support the implementation of capacity building programs, including preparation, training and follow-up.

  • Conduct desk research and contribute to publications related to capacity building programs.

  • Communicate with key partners on specific aspects of capacity building programs activities and initiatives.

  • Coordinate interns and consultants’ tasks within the Department and assist in the evaluation at the end of their performance period.

  • Support the development of strategic relationships and partnerships with stakeholders and Donors to engage them in Hedayah’s activities, under the program manager’s guidance.

  • Support Hedayah as a whole in cross-departmental activities to achieve the organizations’ strategic objectives, including representing the organization at external events when required, supporting corporate communications for capacity building programs, contributing to strategic documents and other relevant activities when required.

Qualifications and Experience

  • An advanced level university degree (Master’s Degree or academic equivalent) in International Relations, Political Science, Social Sciences, Terrorism Studies or related field.

  • A minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience in project or program management, capacity building, or related field.

  • At least one (1) year of working experience on issues related to countering violent extremism is desirable.

  • Experience of working in an international setting, preferably in or with government entities or international organizations is desirable.

  • Experience in content/curricula development and conducting research is desirable.

Other conditions

  • Two years contract, renewable based on satisfactory performance and availability of funds.

  • Selected candidates will undergo a security clearance process.

  • Compensation is based on experience and on the availability of funds.
