Communications Officer

The Communications Officer will support Hedayah’s corporate communications initiatives and implementation through developing communications strategies, creating visual content, amplify content on Hedayah’s online platforms among other responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Senior Communications Officer in completing all related tasks

  • Support the development and implementation of Hedayah’s overall communication strategy

  • Develop social media and media plans, including monthly content calendars and analytics

  • Create visual content (e.g. social media cards, infographics, presentations, short videos) for Hedayah’s corporate communications outreach, including but not limited to, its website and social media platforms

  • Proactively identify and pursue content to amplify on Hedayah’s online platforms

  • Support the development, design and editing of Hedayah’s publications

  • Draft press releases, briefings, newsletters and website content

  • Assist departments in their corporate communications’ needs

  • Assist the implementation of strategic communications initiatives and programs

  • Maintain a photo and video footage library

  • Coordinate and work with international and national stakeholders in communicating Hedayah’s joint initiatives

  • Scan the news on a regular basis for CVE-related content

  • Provide ad-hoc support to communications activities as needed

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, Public Relations and/or other related areas

  • Up to three years’ experience of working in similar communications, public relations or marketing role or as a journalist (internships will be considered for exceptional candidates)

  • Prior experience of working in an international setting is a plus

Key Skills

  • Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, email marketing tools, digital analytics and WordPress is preferred

  • Ability to produce highly creative and innovative digital communication solutions which drives strong engagement online

  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills

  • Highly proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, especially PowerPoint

  • Skills in video editing and/or digital animation is a plus

  • Proven skills in converting complex text into creative multimedia products

  • Ability to work well under pressure, proactive and efficient

  • Ability to work autonomously and in a team

  • Ability to work with stakeholders from diverse cultural backgrounds in the appropriate manner

  • Fluent in English, any other languages are a plus
