NATIONAL STRATEGIES AND ACTION PLANS

Hedayah provides technical assistance for governments to develop National Action Plans to Prevent and Counter Violent Extremism. This includes supporting the design, review, implementation, and evaluation of national strategies and action plans to respond comprehensively and effectively to violent extremism in the national and local contexts.

In 2015, the United Nations Secretary-General launched the Plan of Action to Prevent Violent Extremism, which recommended; “each Member State should consider developing a national plan of action to prevent violent extremism which sets national priorities for addressing the local drivers”.  This gave further impetus to Hedayah’s work.

Through a holistic and inclusive process, we provide this expertise through capacity building, technical support, advisory services, awareness raising, and review and revision services. We also facilitate input from relevant cross-government, local government and civil society actors, to achieve a National Action Plan that effectively reduces the threat of violent extremism.
