Research and Analysis

Practitioners, policymakers and academics working in the field of countering violent extremism often express the need for a strong evidence base for developing programs and policies. The evidence base is established by identifying the push and pull factors that lead to radicalization and recruitment into violent extremism as well as strong indicators or measures for assessing the effectiveness of interventions designed to counter those push and pull factors.

The international community has identified the need for one central location where the evidence base for CVE activities and programs can be tracked, analyzed and shared with the international community working on these issues. Moreover, the international community has also suggested the need to better analyze current data in CVE and project and identify future threats of violent extremism as they emerge.
